Maybe you'd prefer a signed hardcover, you can get that at my Maybe you've seen people already reading Chasing Creed. Several months ago, we did a pre-launch directly from my WebShop. Most of August, I signed, and Deb wrapped and packed. So far, we've delivered nearly 1000 hardcovers and eBooks. Buying direct allows a few more dollars in my pocket and some treats for my pack. I want to thank all of you who ordered as part of our "First to Read" pre-launch. This was a trial-run. I'm happy to report, it exceeded our expectations! Like everything else, prices have gone up for us considerably along with retailers raising their percentages to distribute our books. For the last 10 years Deb and I have tried our best to keep the price of the eBook at $9.99. Over those 10 years, we've only raised the hardcover by 11% despite our printing increase of 45%. Buying direct allows us a bigger share of our own product. So, thank you for your patience, your enthusiasm and, most of all, for continuing to buy my books.
Of course, I appreciate you reading my books any way you can get them. AND if you're a library patron, please remind your librarian to order Chasing Creed. Again, if you don't want to wait until September 20th, you can I hope you enjoy this one. There are some twists that I didn't even see coming! The VIR READER LUNCHEON is right around the corner on Saturday, October 17. This event is so much fun! I tell people the luncheon is like a reunion of friends—friends who love books, dogs and murder mysteries. In the photo with Deb and me: Last year, Susan came from England for her first luncheon. Mary and Miss Molly have traveled from Colorado for all five. Come join us! This year, I'll be sharing about the real crimes and killers that inspired my novels. Note to my Nebraska friends: I can't believe how many were so close to home! There will be one-of-a-kind swag, killer giveaways, criminally low discounted books and merchandise. AND A CHANCE TO WINSummer is almost over. Ever since Deb and I discovered Coneflower Creamery in Elkhorn, Nebraska, we've made it our must-go-to for ice cream. They're a farm to cone shop where everything including the waffle and sugar cones and even the sprinkles are homemade. Our favorite flavors are Blackstone butter brickle and dark chocolate.
